Before-And-After Transitional Remodel

This marvelous house located in Littleton, Colorado needed a fresh new look and Bollinger Design Group was up for the job! Check out the transformation with these amazing before-and-after pictures.

Our clients wanted us to remodel six designated areas: the master bedroom, master bathroom, foyer, two powder rooms, and the fireplace wall in the family room. Finishes were changed throughout the house including new lighting, paint, and new window treatments. They presented us with an extensive art collection, so we made sure to preserve and complement the artwork throughout the entire design process.

Without further ado, let’s start with the master bedroom.

Master Bedroom

BDG completely remodeled the master suite from floor to ceiling. We added a wine and coffee bar with walnut cabinets, granite counter tops, a sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, and even a small wine cooler. We replaced their bed frame, gave them new side tables, new lamps, a new fan, new ceiling light fixtures, and nice contemporary window coverings.

Master Bathroom

While remodeling the master bathroom, we were faced with two challenges: designing a new vanity on a curved wall and coming up with space for an additional closet. The additional closet took the place of the old walk-in shower and we took a little more space from the master suite. We installed a pocket door for the new closet because it is located next to the entrance of the bathroom. In place of their built-in bathtub, we designed a new walk-in shower with double shower heads and a freestanding modern bathtub.  We covered the floor, side walls, and ceiling of the shower with an onyx patterned porcelain tile, and we covered the back wall with absolute black granite. We also gave them a nice heated towel bar right outside the shower!

Next, BDG designed a floating vanity on the curved wall with polished nickel faucets, vessel sinks to match the freestanding bathtub, walnut cabinets, and LED rope under-lighting. To brighten the bathroom, we gave the curved wall a faux finish with small horizontal glass beads embedded in the paint. We even added glitter to add some sparkle!

Family Room

Our clients also wanted a new fireplace wall as their mantle was getting a bit crowded and they wanted a larger television. We mounted a flat screen television between a newly designed walnut mantle and walnut equipment cabinet, and installed a beautiful built-in display case where they can display their pictures and trophies.

Foyer

The entrance to their house was a bit dark, so we redesigned and installed a beautiful new front door. To add even more charm to the foyer, we gave them a tile mandala to match the wrought iron pattern in the new front door and color scheme in the hall. We finished the entry hall and dining room with some nice Crema Marfil marble flooring.

Powder Room

Just like the master bathroom, we used polished nickel faucets in the powder rooms and gave the walls a faux finish with small horizontal glass beads embedded in the paint. We chose a deep cherry color to make these small rooms feel nice and warm. To keep the room bright, we added plenty of reflective surfaces. Here is the finished powder room in the entryway:

Altogether, this transitional remodel presented us with a few challenges, but the Bollinger Design Group had a lot of fun reviving this gorgeous home!
